After your session is over you may be wondering how you will get to view your images so that you may order prints for your family, friends and your home.

With JT Photography you have three options for viewing your proofs. You may come to my home and view all your images on my computer and then place your order right then. You may view your proofs online in your own password protected gallery on my website. Or you may order a proof book and after its arrival to your home may place your order after viewing those proofs. Each proof is marked with the image number for ease of ordering.

The great thing is you will receive a complimentary 4x6 proof album with the purchase of any collection. These proof albums are mini books of the whole session. You get to see all the images that I have chosen for you in one location. These are great momentos. We only have so much wall space for our very favorite photos but sometimes it is nice to have at least one copy of each image from the session.

These proof books are copyright protected and are not to be scanned or copied in any form for personal use. These proof books are for your ordering convience and viewing pleasure.

Child Photography - Naomi turns 3

My sweet little girl recently turned three.
I don't know how it's possible that I have a three year old,
Well, really I "KNOW" but you know what I mean.The time has gone all too fast.

We celebrated her three years of life with lots of fun surprises.
Daddy took her out for breakfast.
I then took her out for her photo session.
Then we went to church (where daddy works) for lunch
and to share butterfly cake with everyone.
After nap time we spent time just hanging out
and let her open her presents while little bro was still sleeping
(that was a great decision on our part...he would have been all over her stuff).
We had a "nice" dinner at her favorite resturant (IHOP).
I say "nice" because she was acting SO crazy and made me want to hide under the table!
But we just loved spending lots of time just enjoying our little girl.

The days go fast and the years go even faster.
We're going to soak up every little ounce of three year old Naomi!

We love you sweet girl and we feel so blessed thatGod chose you to be part of our family!

Milestones. This photoshoot was very special because of milestones. Larry and Wanda will be celebrating their tenth wedding Anniversary at the end of September and Shannon will turn 18 next week. Two very big occasions in the life of any family! Larry, Wanda and Shannon are members of our church and Wanda watches my kiddos twice a month for me (and sometimes more...thanks Wanda!) so it was a huge honor for them to ask me to photograph their family. We had a great time walking around the Japanese Tea Gardens checking out the beautiful flowers, big koi, and turtles too...not to mention the cats! There was no shortage of laughter or poking fun...it was hiLARRYous!

Child Photography - Baby E

You may remember a couple of months ago when I was giving away a session and one print to a family in San Antonio through Give Away Today. The photo session was won by someone who no longer lived in the area but they were sure to pass it on to some of their friends. I love it when friends share and bless other friends...really who could ask for a better friend than someone who shares the gift of memories!

I was so excited to find out that the family who received the gift from their friends has a sweet little girl. We waited until little E turned six months old! I cannot imagine doing this session any sooner because it has been SO HOT all summer long. Today was the perfect day for this session. The weather was nice and it was a little cloudy. I am so glad I got to meet Sarah and Rich and their sweet little girl. I had a great time working with them. Rich is in the Air Force so they are far from home (I can relate) and they don't know where they will be moving come next year. I am so glad that I was able to help them capture some memories of their sweet little girl and give them some photos to show off to grandmas back in Utah! Hi grandmas!!

I realize that I have not shared any recent photographs of my children on this blog for a while! Well, here they are. My kids are such funny little people. They are growing up so quickly. I cannot believe that pretty soon I will have a three year old. She's not a little toddler anymore. Naomi makes herself known and she knows what she wants. Micah is such a great little dude. He loves to follow his sister around and he's pretty content to play by himself as well.

I love it when they play together and allow me to capture them in their natural state of play. I love capturing these memories and I know they will cherish them when they get older. I had a great time photographing them while they were playing outside, running around and playing in the pool. I know Naomi has some crazy hair in this first photo but that doesn't matter to me. I was able to get both kids looking in the same direction and while I don't always like the posed photos sometimes it's nice to see their eyes. So, while Naomi's hair is a little messy it just shows me what they are like in real life.

I'd love to capture these real life moments for you and your family too.

Engagement Album

I am so excited to be able to offer albums with most of my collections. I think it's so important to have these captured memories documented. So often our digital files just sit on our computers. I am guilty of this also. I am trying to get more books printed with the photos in them so at least they are off my computer and out in the open where everyone can pour through the books and remember the fun times we've had together.

I put together Nick and Ellie's engagment album last night. I am so excited about this album and really hope they love it too. It has not been finalized or printed yet but here is a sample of their album pages.

I purchased a new computer this past week for my photography business and it has already made a HUGE impact on my life. I was able to complete the design of this album in a few hours which would have taken me a week or better on my old slow computer. This is good news for my clients as it will allow me to get things finished faster, and it will also allow me to be able to offer more personalized items!!! Here's to more productivity!

Engagement Photography - Blake & Lydia

With a plastic pony in hand he got down on one knee outside her car door at the elementary school and asked her to be his wife. She then noticed the "missing" ring tied around the ponies neck and two of her life long dreams were fulfilled at once. She got a pony and the man of her dreams!

Blake and Lydia met at a Young Adult Party in the Park that three area Lutheran Churches hosted (I happened to be there also). They started the conversation there and it continued at their small group Bible studies that Lydia joined shortly after the party. They started "dating" in December and officially in January. While Blake programs software by day Lydia is shaping the minds of young 7th and 8th graders in the area of literature and by night they are having a blast being together, whether it's playing Scrabble or planning their wedding (I'm pretty sure they're laughing)!

Blake and Lydia, thank you so much for allowing me to capture this really special time in your life. I had such a great time working with you. It was fun to learn more about you and to laugh with you! Thanks for the great morning. I hope you love your photographs. I had a really hard time narrowing it down...you get lots of sneak peaks!!! Vacation

My family and I are taking a vacation! We are so excited to be meeting my husbands family for a week of fun in Hot Springs, AK! We are looking forward to all being together and celebrating my in-laws 40th Wedding Anniversary! How incredible!

Engagement Photography: Nick & Ellen

I had a blast photographing Nick and Ellen yesterday. They were so fun to work with and I really had a blast getting to know them better. Nick and I actually went to the same highschool...at the same time (he was a year behind me)...but we really didn't know each other there. He sat down in front of me at church a while ago and we got to talking and that's how I found out we both went to highschool at MLHS in Milwaukee and now live in San Antonio. Crazy...small...world!

Nick and Ellen met through Facebook, they became friends, emailed, texted, visited each other, fell in love and soon changed their status to "engaged". Nick and Ellen have a lot of fun with each other and they know how to joke around and be serious (sometimes). They were up for all my ideas and had some great ideas of their own. Thanks Nick and Ellen for the really fun morning! Here are a few of my favorites, I hope you love them too.

Bridal Portraits - Kari

You may recognize Kari, I was honored to take her engagement photographs! I always love working with friends...and trying new things. We went to a couple of different locations very close to my house and they turned out to be great backdrops for this beautiful woman. What makes a beautiful bride stand out more than a broken down house, or a drab railroad? Kari was such a good sport and up for anything! Engagment Photography - Jason and Karla

Their first date was on September 11, 2006, they met only two nights ealier at Howl at the Moon in downtown San Antonio. Karla was at a friends bachelorette party and Jason was hanging out with some of his Air Force buddies. The music was loud and everyone was dancing so Karla grabbed Jason by the arm and asked him to dance. At the end of the evening she scribbled her number on the back of a bumper sticker and told him to call. He was only going to be in town one more week and she had to leave on a business trip in the middle of the week so they had their first date on a Monday. The first date led to photo calls and emails and eventually Jason moved from New Jersey to San Antonio after he was finished serving with the Air Force. The rest as they say is history! These two are so in love and they love to have a good time, I can't wait to see what the future has in store for them!

I happen to know Jason and Karla from church, and they've babysat my kids too. We had such a great time walking around down at the Riverwalk, threatening to push someone in the river(we won't mention names), getting yelled at for standing on some rocks at Mission Concepcion, being freaked out by the guy talking about a suitcase bomb (we saw him at BOTH missions taking photos with a disposable camera, should we have reported him?) and just laughing till it hurt. Thanks so much Jason and Karla for trusting me with these precious memories. I had SO MUCH FUN. And although it was my longest session to date it went by super fast! I had a really hard time narrowing down the choices. Here are a bunch of my favorites! Which one do you like the best?

are needed for this little guy as he has his reconstructive surgery today. Please keep JJ, Kimi and Scott and the doctors in your prayers today. JJ will look different from the outside once the surgery is over but still has a long road ahead of him as he waits the for the surgery to repair the roof of his mouth in December. After the surgery he will be in arm casts for 10 days because he is not allowed to suck on anything. He will be fed with a tube in his mouth and cannot have pacifiers or anything to suck on, so please pray for them all during their ten days after surgery as well, I'm sure that will be a trying time also. I will update with his progress once I hear something.

Josiah's surgery went really well. He looks like a different kid, but he's the same happy little guy that he was before. He has a long road ahead of him so if you wouldn't mind keeping him in your prayers that would be awesome! Thanks!

Child Photography - Jake, Sophia & Joshua

One of the highest compliments that I can receive is when a client calls me to come and photograph their family for the second, third, fourth and even a fifth time. Repeat clients are amazing and such a joy to work with and it's incredible to see how the children have changed. I have been photographing this family since before little Joshua was born and I love seeing how much they change from session to session. You can see their last family session here and one of the earlier sessions here.

Amy brought the kids over to my house today for our little session. Our backyard seems to work pretty nice for these types of sessions, plus as an added bonus Naomi got to play with her friends. Jake did great for "not wanting his picture taken", Sophia is a natural in front of the camera. She let me pose her and take her to different areas, so obviously I got the most photographs of her. Little Joshua is such a happy guy and loved standing and bouncing around in the grass. What a great bunch of little kids, but don't tell Sophia that I called her little because she assures me that she is NOT little.

Thanks again Amy for allowing me to capture these memories for you. Amy, since you're usually the one behind the camera I'm so proud of you for getting in on a few of the shots. Infant and Child Photography - Matthew and JJ

Our good friends, Scott and Kimi, were in town for the Memorial Day weekend and we had a great time hanging out with them and their boys. Naomi and Matthew had a great time together and did pretty good sharing the toys. Of course Naomi loved little JJ and wanted to hold him and play with him lots.

Little JJ is three months old. He was born with a severe cleft lip and palatte. He is an amazing little boy though. He learned how to eat right away and has never let this special need of his slow him down. He is so sweet and has such a great personality. He smiles a lot and loves to coo and talk. What a sweet little boy. He's having surgery on June 9th to reconstruct his lip and I wanted to help Kimi and Scott remember this time because all too soon his smile will change. But he'll still be smiling!

Matthew is almost two and such an awesome kid. He can throw like a big kid and turns every object into a bat or golf club...amazing. He is super cute and loves his little brother so much. He's a mover and a shaker that's for sure. Watch out ladies. This kid could be a model...if he sat still :)!

Eeyore is VERY important to Matthew. He is well loved.

I have been meaning to photograph Micah for his first birthday for many weeks now. It's true that photographers kids are often photographed but also often forgotten. I forget sometimes to actually have a portrait session to document the big milestones like first birthdays. So, I took the kids to Mission Concepcion to get some great portraits and also to check out another Mission.

I have heard many photographers say how easy it is to photograph other children but not their own and I wholeheartedly agree. It was a little challenging to photograph Naomi and Micah but all in all I think I captured my kids as they are right now. I can not wait to get some of these printed and on my walls. Enjoy a little bit of our session.

Mission Concepcion

I have been wanting to check out all the Missions in San Antonio for a while now. I've been to two of them and decided to check out another one. I'm sort of doing some scouting for future photo sessions to see which Mission I like the best. I took the kids to Mission Concepcion last week and we had a good time. Senior Portrait Photography - Krista

I seriously have the best job in the world! I have great opportunities to meet some awesome people and helping them capture these timeless memories is incredible for me. On Saturday I got to meet Krista and her mom Debbie. Krista is graduating in less than two weeks and I'm so excited for her. Graduation is such an incredible time! Not only is this girl beautiful but she's pretty smart too. She will be heading to my neck of the woods for college at DePaul in Chicago to study psychology and pre-law! Amazing!

Newborn Photography - Griffin

I was contacted by a friend from highschool about photographing her daughters while I was still in town. I was so excited for the opportunity, not only to see Sarah again and catch up but also to photograph two sweet and very cute girls. Olivia is a little younger than my Naomi so they had a great time playing together. Olivia's little sister Naomi is one month old. She slept for a little bit but then showed us her big eyes as well.

Family Photography - The E Family

Can I tell you how much I love my job? I get to hang out with the best people and I get to do what I love and help them capture memories for years to come. I get to work with my friends and strangers who become my friends and my family. I am allowed to become a part of so many families while working with them and get to experience life through their eyes.

Today's photoshoot was very special to me. Not only because these are some of my greatest friends, and because they are all so good looking but also because they have not had any professional photos taken since their wedding...almost 9 years! I am so honored that Jen and Eric allowed me the privilege of photographing their beautiful family. The handsome little guy is my godson and I am so blessed to have him in my life. The little lady joined the family in January and you can just see how much they are in love with her. Eric and Jen are still so in love and that is so obvious! Thanks Jen and Eric for taking the morning to hang out with me and my camera. I had a great time photographing you all and I know my kids loved spending time with you all too. Family Photography - The P Family

I had the priviledge of photographing this great family yesterday. They bid on my services at the Grace Lutheran Church Auction. I was very excited to get the opportunity to photograph a family with older kids. I love working with the little kids but it seems that I don't get to photograph the big kids very often. Alex and Bryce were very willing to do what was asked of them and were great "models". Tracy works with my mom and had seen some of my work before and that is what prompted them to bid at the auction. I'm so glad they did. I had such a great time working with them and am so happy with their photos.

Family Photography - The W Family

Please allow me to introduce you to some amazing people. Dan, Susan, Molly, Sadie, Abbey, Kenadie, and Gavin make up the W family. Susan and I have been friends since highschool and when I told her I was going to be doing a few photo sessions while in Wisconsin on vacation she asked me to come and photograph her family. She told me it may be a challenge because little "Beefy" doesn't like to sit still. Well, I can relate because my little guy is the same way, and I'm always up for a challenge.

We had a gorgeous Saturday morning to work with, although it was a little chilly and the smallest girls kept saying it was "freezing". But we survived and got some great family photographs to help Susan and Dan remember this time in their lives.

Molly is six and the oldest of the five, she was born two days before Greg and I got married. She's a great big sister and leader!

Sadie is five and the only redhead. She loves to tell stories and is just super sweet.

Abbey is three and a sweet little lady. She has the most amazing dimples!

Kenadie is two and is the most petite little lady. She's quiet but has a killer smile.

Gavin, or Beefy as they call him, is one and he is a mover and a shaker. I'm not sure if he sat still the whole time I was there.

What adorable kids! They are all so sweet and play together so nice...well, Gavin sometimes comes in and shakes things up but they love him so much. Susan bought these cute dresses from a mother who lost her daughter to cancer, you can see the shop where she bought them here.

This is a classic family photo for the W family. All the girls pose on command and then little Gavin does his own thing. What a great group of people!

I know that there isn't really anything technically correct about this photo but I love it. They were having a tickle fest and it was just a great family moment. I love the attitude of this one, so I blew out the background to really make them pop a little more.

I love little kid feet and their ottoman worked out perfectly for this photo. It's a good thing my camera is fast because Gavin did not stay there long.

Susan wanted a few shots of them walking and holding hands. I loved all the photos in this series and had a hard time narrowing it down. Here are two of my favorites.

Well, my little guy turned one today. I cannot believe how quickly this past year has gone. I have had an incredible time photographing this little guy and watching him grow from a baby to a little dude. He has such an amazing personality, he loves to snuggle and give kisses (he actually puckers his lips) and he has a smile that lights up a room. Here are a few photos of him enjoying his birthday cake at his party on Saturday!

I made some storyboards for Meagan from her senior session and I am really pleased with how they turned out. The first one is a 16x20 print mounted on foam board and the second one is a 10x20 also mounted on foam board. Susan and Meagan couldn't decide which one they liked better so they went ahead and ordered both. I am really happy they did since it gave me a great opportunity to see what the different sizes and types of storyboards look like. I had fun putting these together and would love to showcase all your favorite photos in one storyboard as well.

Naomi loves to take photos too. She wanted to do what I was doing as I was photographing these prints to show to you!

While trying to get a few things for the business in line (thus the lack of sessions), I've had lots of time to photograph my children. They are great subjects to photograph and lately little Naomi has really taken to being photographed (i LOVE it). She says, "let's go over here and take a picture" and she's always coming up with new poses or silly faces. We're having a lot of fun and I know that when I am totally ready (and that means having the time) I will be more than happy and willing and ready to photograph more clients!!! I'm getting lots of practice chasing kiddos around (Micah rarely sits still anymore) and would love to be able to capture memories for others as well. Can you believe that Valentine's Day is THIS weekend? How nice that it falls on a Saturday this year. I've been more intentional about this "hallmark" holiday this year since my kids are getting a little bigger. I know that Micah has no idea what's going on but Naomi is starting to understand more and more things going on around her. So, we've made some Valentine's Day crafts and of course we had a Valentine's Day photo shoot. This photo shoot did not go like I hoped it would. Micah did NOT want to sit still and I don't think I got a single photo with both of them in focus at the same time. Oh well, it doesn't bother me because it just helps me see what my life is like at this point in time. This is what I'm all about, capturing the real memories and what life is really like at this time in this place for whomever I am photographing. I'm not usually this neglegent with my blogging! I do apologize to the both of you who read this blog. I have been in a little bit of a standstill and am waiting to get out. I went to the San Antonio Bridal Fair today with my friend Kari who is getting married at the end of April. I went for somewhat selfish reasons but also had fun helping Kari talk through her wedding and get more info on DJ's and Tuxes. I wanted to see the photographers...and I was not dissapointed. There is a lot of talent out there...and rather than let it intimidate me, I'm going to make it motivate me and give me the kick in the pants that I need. I so desperately want to photograph weddings. I want to be creative. I want to capture these special moments in people's lives for them. My whole family has gathered in San Diego for a Christmas and New Years celebration. My mom and dad, sister and brother-in-law came from WI before Christmas and my family came from Texas after Christmas. We decided that we should do some family photos since the last time we did them Naomi was two months old (that's the last time we've all been together at the same time). So, it was a long overdue photoshoot. I am so glad that I was able to take the majority of the photos and I'm glad we were able to find someone to take the big family photo. We had a hard time narrowing it down to a manageable size to pick from. There are still a bunch of photos that I'm not even sharing here. But here are some shots from our family photo shoot today.

I pray that you are having a blessed Christmas and that your New Year is incredible as well. This year has been an interesting year as far as my business goes. I took some time off after my little guy was born and have gotten back into the swing of things recently. I am hoping to capture more and more memories in 2009. Sweet Hubby

I have such a sweet husband. He really went all out this year for my birthday. He bought me a CD I've been wanting and another part of the Willow Tree Nativity that I'm collecting. He also got me roses and get this...he baked me a CAKE! That is the first cake in six years of marriage but hey, it's never too late! He took me out for dinner on Thursday, my birthday (4th) and then we went downtown to listen to some jazz on Friday night without kids! What an awesome birthday. I had the great honor of photographing this sweet family today. They have a beautiful home (pretty close to my own) filled with love, laughter and two sweet little ladies. I was so excited to meet this family and to spend a little time with them on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We headed outside (since we can still do that in south Texas) and got some great shots. The sun was shining but we found some shade and I was lovin' the natural light...they turned out great. We also took some shots inside by the Christmas tree. When you play three sports, have homework and a social life you're pretty busy. But we found time this afternoon for Mikaela's senior portrait session. I'm so glad that we had time today for this awesome shoot. We went to the Japanese Tea Garden also known as the Sunken Gardens and were not dissapointed. The place is beautiful, add to that a beautiful senior lady and you've got it made for some great photographs. Elizabeth is the creative type. She loves art, literature, history, and music. She's like me in that she'd rather be behind the camera than in front of the camera. Happy Halloween

We got the kids dressed up for our churches Reformation Fest on Sunday. Naomi had a great time playing the games and watching the clowns put on their skit. She still doesn't understand the concept of trick-or-treating so we'll be staying home tonight (which is fine by me). It was fun dressing them up though and Micah didn't mind the "hood" at all.

We went to the pumpkin patch with our MOPS@ group this morning. What a great place to get some fun photographs of the kiddos! The pumpkins add a great texture and color to the background and are always fun to climb on. The photos make great decorations around your house at Halloween and Thanksgiving time. San Jose Mission

I packed the kids up this morning and headed south to the San Jose Mission. I was on a mission to get outside, get some photographs and experience something new in my city. Mission Accomplished! Ha! The kids did great and let me explore a little before Naomi insisted on getting out of the stroller. I love to photograph just about anything but I have realized that my passion is really in photographing people. But the San Jose Mission will make a great backdrop to future portrait sessions I can just tell. Naomi was not in a photo mood so I had to capture her quickly without her really knowing it. My cousin Heather asked me if I would be willing to photograph her little girl, Danika while I was home for Julie's wedding. Any opportunity for me to photograph kids is a great opportunity...and my cousins kid, even better! Danika is just one month older than my daughter so I know a little bit about how she works. I had a fun time following Danika around at the apple orchard and in my parents backyard. I was told that it would be a challenge to get Danika to smile for the camera or even to look at the camera...I can understand that completely as Naomi is the same way sometimes. I took the challenge head on and got some great shots of Danika and I really hope that Heather loves them as much as I do...if not more! My Best Friends Wedding

I can't believe how much my little girl has grown up in the last five months. When I look back at pictures of her when Micah was first born and compare them to pictures today it's just like a whole new person has emerged. She is talking non-stop, which also means lots of questions...and obvious questions. Like, "where'd daddy go?" when he's sitting right in front of her. And inquiring questions, "what's mommy doing?". Questions about everything and it's good that she's wanting to learn and inquiring about her world...but at the same time a little quiet now and then wouldn't be a bad thing! ha! I love this little girl and just wanted to share a quick photo that I took of her this morning. She's just going to keep growing up and I want to remember the questions and her adorable smile, before too long she may not even want to talk to me...ha!

I love photographing newborns, their wrinkly skin, their tiny toes, their ability to sleep through just about anything...it's great. Little Joshua was no exception to any of those...well, he was a little hungry but still a good model none-the-less. Joshua joined his big brother Jake and big sister Sophia on August 26th. He was 6lbs and 15ounces at birth and gave everyone a little scare when he had to stay in the NICU for a few days. But Joshua did get to go home when his mommy did and is adjusting well to life at home with his family. I always love to photograph Jake and Sophia and it's fun to add Joshua to the mix! I had a great time photographing this cute little man today. We went to the McNay and walked all over the place, playing and just having a great time. I had the honor of photographing Billy, Anna and their three adorable foster children today. Little Joe wasn't really in the mood for a photo shoot but I still managed to get some cute shots of him. Because these three cuties are foster children I will not be sharing any photos with their faces in them. The good news is that it looks like Billy and Anna will be officially adopting the boys later this month. Custom Photography

My last grandparent died two weeks ago and I am so grateful that God saw in His infinite wisdom to allow my grandmother to live long enough for my kids and I to go see her before she did pass away. We saw grandma two weeks before she died and she got to meet her great-grandson for the first time and got to see Naomi again! My sister took some photographs of this experience and I am so grateful that I brought my camera along to the nursing home. Although the photographs may not be of the best quality because the lighting was poor, they are still treasured photographs of my children with their great-grandmother...my last living grandparent. All this to say that photographs are an important part of life. Child Photography - Naomi - 22 months

Man, life sure does go by at an alarming pace. You know that saying, "the minutes take forever but the months fly by" (or something like that) it is so true! I cannot believe that I am two months away from being married for SIX years! SIX years, that's crazy! Totally awesome but crazy. I am also two months away from having a TWO YEAR OLD! That's so weird. I love her to death and cannot imagine my life without her, but I have a two year old! AH! Which also means that I am two months away from having a six month old baby. Man, time really does fly. So, all this to say, that I am taking more photographs and getting more photographs printed. I'm trying to decide which ones to get on canvas as well. Life really does slip by if we're not careful. I want to remember these moments and with my bad memory it's best for me to rekindle those memories with photographs and stories. So I am going to try and have more mini photo shoots with my kids more often. Some of them together and some of them alone. I want to remember the little dimples, the crazy hair, the funny toes...all of it. So, without further adu here are some photographs of my little Naomi who will be two in two months! Enjoy!

Infant Photography - Micah - 4 months

I can't believe that my little man is already four months old...okay, so he will be on Saturday. Where has the time gone. Although he's been around for only four months it also feels like he's been around a lot longer than that. Naomi is doing so much better with him. She loves to give him hugs and kisses and blow raspberries on his tummy. Micah is an amazing little man. He sleeps so well, nap time and bed time just come naturally and we can just lay him in his bed and a couple minutes later he'll be asleep. He loves to hang out and smile at anyone and everyone that's around. He is such a laid back little dude and we love it! He's a ham for the camera and it's amazing to me how he looks right at the lens. We had such a fun photoshoot today and he only got unhappy one time...when he was on his tummy too long. He has the little "model pout" down pat (you can see it in the last photo in this series). I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites to a managable size but here you go. My little four month old dude, Micah!

Child Photography - Cousins

I got the honor of photographing Jake and Sophia again on Sunday and this time we threw their cousin, Grant in the mix too. The challenge this time was to get three kids to cooperate for some nice pictures for grandma. And I think I captured the kids pretty well and even got a few when they were all looking at the camera. I said, looking, not smiling! I had a great time photographing them and we had a great location too. I even got to go swimming with these three and my little Naomi after the photo shoot, it doesn't get much better than that! Hope you like them Amy!

Engagement Photography - Clif and Julie

Clif and Julie met at Lambeau Field outside a Packer game. The day after they met I received a phone call. You see, Julie is my best friend...and she had to tell me about this guy she met. They started talking on the phone pretty regularly and soon enough they were dating. Julie helps coach softball at Concordia Wisconsin and she and the team went down to Florida for some games in March. Clif and Julie's mom traveled on their own to Florida at the same time to spend some time there with Julie and watch some softball games. Clif also went to Florida with other intentions. On their free day they spent some time at Disneyworld and really enjoyed creating new memories. The best memory though was that evening as it was getting dark and they were starting to head home Clif took Julie by the hand and led her back to the Cinderella castle where he got down on one knee and asked Julie to spend the rest of her life with him. She said yes and as they say, the rest is history. She called me that evening to tell me the good news and then later asked me to take their engagement photos. I was so totally honored.
It's nice to know that the people that mean the most to you appreciate and like what you do. So while, I was home on vacation Julie, Clif, Greg and I spent an evening in Sheboygan. We went to Julie's family cottage on Lake Michigan to get some photos and then downtown Sheboygan. I had such an awesome time photographing them and could really see how much they love each other. They really know how to have a good time...and Clif's good at taking what Julie dishes out! I am SO EXCITED to be part of their wedding in October and to see their relationship grow and blossom as a married couple. To come full circle from when they met they are having their wedding reception at Lambeau field! We can't wait!

Child Photography - Peyton

While I was "home" on vacation I had the honor of photographing my college roommates little guy, Peyton. Peyton is such a cutie and really a happy baby. However, once the camera came out he didn't really feel like smiling a whole lot. I got some great shots of Peyton though and I can't wait for Erica to see all of them! Vacation

We just got back from a week of vacation to Wisconsin. We had a great time seeing tons of family and friends! It's so awesome when you can go back to see the people you love and feel as if no time has passed. That is how we felt when we got to see so many family members and friends. We had a bbq at my parents house and 58 people came to see us and meet Micah...and eat good food! We were so honored that so many of our friends wanted to see us and hang out with us! We miss them already!
Naomi and Micah got to see both sets of grandparents, all their cousins and all but one set of aunts and uncles in one week. It helped that we went to St. Louis for a family wedding (on Greg's side) after spending a week with my side of the family in Milwaukee.
Grammy and papa saved this horse from going to goodwill and I think Naomi was glad they did. She really liked to ride on the horse and the kids at our bbq had a fun time with it also!Here are some of the moms and kiddos that came to our bbq. It was so great to see them all again!

New Camera

I am so excited. I finally saved up enough money to go digital. I received my Canon 40D in the mail on Wednesday and I immediately started playing. Wedding Photography - Kevin and Candace

I had the honor of photographing Kevin and Candace's wedding back in February. They had to move their wedding up due to Kevin's soon deployment. And due to some circumstances I was just able to process the film recently but I'm so excited about their photographs. I've started to proof their wedding but with two kiddos to keep me busy it's taking me a little longer than normal. Child Photography - Sophia

My friend Amy and I took our kids to the zoo the other day, our husbands were out of town at a retreat. It was good to get out and its always nice to wear the kiddos out. I grabbed a couple of pictures of Amy's little Sophia on the commodo dragon, she looks so sweet and innocent but let me tell you, Sophia is a little firecracker! That girl has more energy in her pinky than I have in my whole body. I love how these pictures turned out and love the bright pink shirt she's wearing. I shot these on my canon Elan 7e and the only thing I don't like about that camera is waiting for the film to be developed. In a society where everything is instant it's a practiced art waiting for film to be developed and then finding the time to pick it up is another aspect. But these shots were worth the wait. Amy, you've got a little heartbreaker on your hands...but a complete cutie with a fire in her like I've never seen!

Infant and Child Photography - Naomi and Micah

It's going to be interesting trying to get a picture of both my kids looking at the camera at the same time. I don't always want pictures of them looking at the camera, but just one once in a while would be nice. I tried to get Naomi to stay still by telling her I needed her to hold my lens cap...that worked for like a second. Obviously Micah is too small to even have a clue as to what I am doing but he looked up a couple of times, just not at the same time as Naomi. Oh well, at least I can get them both in the same frame. I can't get over how much my little guy has already grown. He's almost two months old and I just don't want him to grow up any more...although sleeping through the night would be nice :) He's such a great baby and makes my day so much brighter. He loves to sit in his bouncy chair when his sister isn't around to attack him. He's a happy baby and pretty content most the time...as long as he is not hungry or doesn't have a dirty diaper he's good to go. He has these amazing blue eyes which are hard to capture in photographs right now because he doesn't open his eyes very wide. We think he's going to have red hair...his cousin Emily and some great aunts have red hair...but we'll have to see. Here are a few shots I got of him the other day with my point and shoot camera. Family Photography - The B Family

I had the great honor of being able to photograph my sister-in-law and her family. They came to visit us for a week and at the end of the week we squeezed in a quick photo shoot. It's always fun to photograph family members because you're already comfortable with each other and you know the people pretty well so that helps with capturing the person rather than just an image. Andrew and Noah did great in front of the camera and I think Andrew could have a career in smiling for the camera. I didn't capture too many of him looking away or with his eyes closed (not bad for a three year old)! Thanks guys for letting me capture some memories for your family!

Well, I haven't posted in a while but I have a good excuse! I had my adorable little boy, Micah on April 2. He weighed 7lbs 12oz and was 21 inches long. He's such a great baby and a wonderful addition to our family. I can't imagine my life without him...even though that life entailed a little more sleep! We love him so much and can't wait to see his little personality, although we already know he LOVES to sleep and doesn't like to be naked! But really, who doesn't love to sleep! Well, I didn't take this picture because I am in it but I wanted to share with you what my family looks like today! This picture was taken by my mother on Easter Sunday after church. My family is the most important thing to me in this world. My faith is by far the most important thing in my life but my family is a gift from God as well. I am truly blessed to have a great husband in Greg, who is also a wonderful father and Pastor. My little Naomi is amazing and such a sweet girl. My life is truly blessed with these two amazing people and I cannot imagine a day without them. We are so excited to meet our son and cannot wait to include him in our family and in the family of God. So, there's a little more about me and my family...thanks for taking a little glimpse into our lives too.

Greeting Cards

What a special way to stay in touch. Mail these days means so many different things. It means bills, junk, email, text messages and then the special once in a while greeting card or handwritten letter. Those hand written letters can mean so much to someone, especially in our day of computers, email, blackberries and text messaging. To actually take the time to sit down and write someone a letter really conveys to that person that they are special to you because you took time out of your busy day to not only think of them but to write them a letter. How much more special that letter or card can be with a personal picture that you have taken or even better, of yourself! Think about ordering some custom cards from your session with me to send out to just the right person at the just the right time. Or choose from any of my photographs that do not include you for those special cards also. Personalized cards and a handwritten note go a long way to say how much you care!

Family Photography - The W Family

I love photographing families, there are so many dynamics that go on with families. This family was no different. Jake and Sophia love to run around and explore things, they love to go at their own pace...so I tried to make that my pace as well. We dodged the rain clouds and only got spit on once. It was a nice overcast day so we didn't have to worry about harsh shadows or too much heat! Thanks guys for a fun afternoon, I hope you feel as great about these photographs as I do!

When shooting lifestyle photography it's just about capturing who they really are and not so much about posed pictures. Although it's nice to have a shot of everyone looking at the camera that is not my main focus. I had so much fun with these guys and can't wait to do more shoots with them. Senior Portrait Photography - Meagan

I had a great time photographing Megan on Sunday. We ventured to downtown San Antonio and got some great shots at the Riverwalk. It was a little crowded but we managed. We also went to the "permission wall" where graffiti artists get permission to tag on the wall. There was some really great graffiti there and I'm glad Megan wanted to shoot there!

Megan was so fun to work with and even though she said she's not very photogenic I have to disagree. I am happy with how the photographs turned out and hope she likes them too. I could post them all here because I like them all but I will only post a few of my absolute favorites!
